A ride with the Legend - De Tomaso Pantera

Tornio, Finland. De Tomaso Pantera is one of those rare cars, what you really don't see every day. It's also interesting mix of Italian design and US and German technology. 

Pantera was manufactured from 1971 to 1992 in Italy. The whole production was finally 7260 cars. This specific model is 1972 and the production number is #2886.

Pantera is very low car. In fact it´s only 110cm high, so it´s one of the lowest car. This car is even lower, because of new suspension.

Rear of the car looks sexy. Massive 335mm tires and 4 exhaust pipes.

Pantera is mid-engine car, so the engine is between the front and rear axles. When opening the hood there is quite much space for the luggage.

Pantera has same 351ci Ford engine (5.7L), which is also in Ford Mustang. It produces about 350hp as a stock. German ZF has manufactured the gearbox.

Dashboard is typical for the sports cars on this era. There are all needed gauges and even air condition.

Driving position is interesting, because steering wheel and pedals are little right from the driver. This is quite common feature in elder car models.

It was very interesting to talk about the car. After photo session we did also a small ride. Pantera is quite light car and together with great torque it pulls very nicely. 

De Tomaso Pantera is one of those car models where the price is just going up. For example here in Finland there are only about five Pantera.

Motorcycle and car parade in Tornio, Finland

Tornio, Finland. Tornio is a small town in North Finland, which is on the Sweden border. Every year on 1st of May Tornio has motorcycle and car parade. Parade was also on this year 2016.

On the front of the parade comes always motorcycles.

Somebody was riding minimoto on the parade. "When the attitude is everything".

There was also some old sidecars.

Newer tricycle from Can-Am.

And more old sidecars.

Los Dementitos Moped Club.

This was something new. Go-Kart on the streeet...

...and even with the registration plate.

Bigger ATVs on the streets are also rare to see.

Cars in the parade are usually older classics like this beautiful Challager.

Lincoln.

This was sometimes quite common car, but not anymore. Wartburg 353W with 993c two stroke straight-3 and of course from Ease Germany.

Morris Oxford.

Good looking Mini.

Drive with the style - roof down and fur caps in the head.

That kind of parade this year in Tornio. I haven´t been in Tornio during the parade for many, many year, so it was interesting see after long time.
